Deux Sèvres - Food & Wine
This department is best known for its butter and cheese but what is not so well known about it is that it does produce pretty good wines. This should not be such a surprise when one considers that the Deux-Sèvres Department stretches up towards the Loire valley and that the northern boundary of the department is only just south of Saumur, a town which is renowned for its fine sparkling wines.
So when you're in the Deux-Sèvres, do look out for local winemakers and producers - there are some great ones around the town of Thouars for instance. This section will be much developed in future.
