The Museum of Shops From Bygone Days
Prepare yourself for a journey back in time to an era of small shopkeepers and tradesmen!
Lovingly created an old warehouse in meticulous detail, here you will find a series of workshops and stores dating from the years between 1900 and 1940.
The whole shopping area, inspired by the architecture of Eiffel can be explored whilst listening to a musical background featuring the voices of Arletty and Maurice Chevalier. The exhibition features an impressive collection of everyday objects which bring back so many nostalgic memories yet are missing in our lives today.
Businesses on show include a grocery store, a pharmacy, a hatter, a butchers shop and even a Rochefort bar with its beautiful Belle Epoque facade. The products and advertisements of the time are also on show.
Odorama
This new Experience is a multi- sensory approach with scent diffusers installed in stores: the old leather shoemaking, glue on the schoolchildren’s desktops, clove to the dentist, camphor at the pharmacy, etc…
The great thing about a visit to this exhibition is that older and more senior visitors will be taken back to their childhood as they recognise the decor of years gone by, whereas the youngsters will see with their own eyes the daily lifestyle of their parents and grandparents – a way of life that is totally different to their own. This really is a nostalgic and also highly educational experience.
